This book was so well done！ It was perfect from start to finish。 The story was just the right amount of twisted to keep it interesting but not overwhelm the reader。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it， click here。 I have read every CL Taylor book over the years， and there has been some amazingly gripping stories which is why I keep returning to her when she releases something new。This is why I was really disappointed with Her Last Holiday。 For one， the title compared to the actual plot makes zero sense。 I also found it increasingly hard to gel with any of the characters。 The storyline was all over the place and the outcome was really naff。 I’d recommend going for one of her earlier novels if you’re lookin I have read every CL Taylor book over the years， and there has been some amazingly gripping stories which is why I keep returning to her when she releases something new。This is why I was really disappointed with Her Last Holiday。 For one， the title compared to the actual plot makes zero sense。 I also found it increasingly hard to gel with any of the characters。 The storyline was all over the place and the outcome was really naff。 I’d recommend going for one of her earlier novels if you’re looking to sink your teeth into a gripping thriller by CL Taylor， you won’t find that here with this book。 。。。more

I did enjoy this book， there were lots of twists。 However it was at times a bit confusing， dragged a bit and seemed quite prolonged。 But still， it was a mostly exciting read。

I love the CL Taylor books as they always have me completely captivated and guessing until the very end。 Told from the POV from three female antagonists， Fran， Jenna and Kate we become tangled in a web of murder and deceit。 Fran is reluctantly investigating the circumstances of her sister's mysterious death which had been previously stated was suicide。 As she starts to investigate the mysterious Tom Wade， who ran the retreat that Jenna visited before her death， she becomes more and more wound up I love the CL Taylor books as they always have me completely captivated and guessing until the very end。 Told from the POV from three female antagonists， Fran， Jenna and Kate we become tangled in a web of murder and deceit。 Fran is reluctantly investigating the circumstances of her sister's mysterious death which had been previously stated was suicide。 As she starts to investigate the mysterious Tom Wade， who ran the retreat that Jenna visited before her death， she becomes more and more wound up in a web of lies and danger！ Jenna's story skips back in time to her time in the Gozo retreat and her relationships with Tom， his wife Kate and the other participants in the 'cleansing' routines that will take part in。 Was her mental state so low that she simply couldn't cope anymore？ Why was even there in the first place？Kate runs the Soul Shrinks Retreats behind the scenes。 She has stood by Tom through hell and high water and is not for letting him go despite his past dealings but could that have made her turn to murder？Her last holiday was completely enthralling and I didn't know who to blame from one chapter to the next。 What I will say is that the ending and reveal of the murderer was completely unexpected。 As always CL Taylor knows how to reel us in and keep us guessing to the very end。 Roll on the next book！ 。。。more

There were many aspects of this book I enjoyed。 The story is told from three distinct female viewpoints Fran， Tom’s wife Kate and Jenna。 It also alternates between two timelines （two years ago and now）。 I found this an interesting way to explore the relationships between the different characters。 I also loved that throughout the book there were so many possible suspects， making sure the story never got boring！However， certain things just seemed way too far-fetched （like the fact that someone who There were many aspects of this book I enjoyed。 The story is told from three distinct female viewpoints Fran， Tom’s wife Kate and Jenna。 It also alternates between two timelines （two years ago and now）。 I found this an interesting way to explore the relationships between the different characters。 I also loved that throughout the book there were so many possible suspects， making sure the story never got boring！However， certain things just seemed way too far-fetched （like the fact that someone who went to prison cause someone died during his retreat was allowed to hold another one without consequences？？）。 And when the person behind everything is revealed， their reasoning just seemed too implausible to me。 Therefore， it ended up being quite an average read for me: 3/5 ⭐ ⭐⭐ That being said， I enjoyed Taylor’s writing style and character development， so I will definitely check out some of her other books！ And if you like a quick read that is very character driven， then I would still recommend this！ 。。。more
